Jesus will return to the earth in judgement. There is also a description of Christians being caught up that is often described as the rapture. There is some debate as to the timing of these two events and how far apart they are. Whichever position one takes all Christians should understand that a rapture of the church does not necessarily preclude persecution and suffering as so many Christians around the world are encountering at this present time.
